I grew up in San Jose, CA and spent my summers up in Pinecrest; it was there that my love for the outdoors really began. After high school, I headed to California State University, Chico (BA ‘97), and then spent three years in the military. I was stationed in Schweinfurt, Germany with the US Army, deploying to Bosnia-Herzegovinia for Operation Joint Endeavor as an Infantryman for Delta Company 1/26 Infantry.
After coming home, I received my teaching credential and taught 4th grade for several years in San Jose's Alum Rock Unified district. From there, my path shifted into Educational Technology. Over the next 20 years, I've been fortunate to work with some of the best EdTech companies in the world, including Hapara, Gaggle, and Securly. Today, my photography is a reflection of all those chapters—the discipline, the classrooms, and a lifelong pull toward the outdoors.
